I had really really high hope for this Leaf themed week of Tot School.  But the weather just did not cooperate with much outside activity.  Oh well.

I thought this activity would be a hit.  But wasn't into making finger print leaves.  Oh well.

This activity was a hit.  We went through all the Prewriting Practice sheets twice and for the most part Reid did really really well with trying to follow the lines.
Supplies:

Reid loves painting and had a ball painting the oak + maple leaves.  I ended up using all the leaves he painted in a garland that I hung up for fall.

We are still working on holding a marker correctly. (Part of the issue is that he switches from left to right to left to right, constantly.  So I just keep showing him the right way to hold with both hands).  This worksheet held Reid's interest and he ended up tracing all but 2 of the L's.  I was impressed.
Supplies:

I had plans of having Reid paint the shims, glue them to the paper and then use the pom poms as leaves to decorate.  We ended up switching from glue sticks to tacky glue after a couple pom poms and then after another two, he was done.

Apparently, this was a week of very stubborn Reid.  He did not want to be told what color to color the leaves.  It took a little convincing to get him to follow the directions but in the end we made it through about half of the leaves.
Supplies:

This was another Tot Tray that wasn't a hit this week.  Normally Reid is all about playing with contact paper and tissue paper squares.  But not this week.

Reid loves using his dot markers.  So he loved this worksheet (and the 3 copies of it I had).

So there you have it.  Another week of Tot School completed.  We focused a lot on tracing and I think Reid may be getting better.  He did learn the difference between a Maple + an Oak leaf.  So I am calling it a win.
