I try really hard to be a morning person. But when my morning starts at 6:10am thanks to an early wake up from a toddler, it is hard.
However the advantage of being able to run errands, grocery shop and be done by 8:30, is sometimes worth it.
So when I saw the Carnation Breakfast Essentials at Walmart earlier this week, I knew this would make a perfect addition to my early mornings.
Each serving has 21 Vitamins and Minerals and13g of Protein, making this a healthy and easy breakfast option. Bonus points for the Dark Chocolate flavor!
On one of my early morning grocery runs, I picked up some orange juice with this recipe in mind. And let me tell you, it turned out even tastier than I imagined. So without further ado…
Orange Vanilla Smoothie Recipe
- 1 packet Classic French Vanilla Carnation Breakfast Essentials
- 3/4 C milk
- 3/4 C orange juice
- 1 (6oz) frozen orange cream yogurt
- A few ice cubes
- Place all of the ingredients in a blender. Cover and blend until the mixture is smooth.
- Serve immediately.
If you don’t have frozen yogurt, then just add a few more ice cubes.
I love how quick and easy this is to make for breakfast. Almost as much as I love the taste. Almost. And in case you were wondering, this makes for a perfect after dinner dessert and an after lunch dessert too!
If you have extra smoothie left over or decide to make a double batch, freeze the extra and make popsicles for a healthier alternative to store bought popsicles.
