My Life of Travels and Adventures: Spicy Popcorn Mix using Beef Jerky

Spicy Popcorn Mix using Beef Jerky

04 December 2013

For an easy holiday gift, I made this Spicy Popcorn Mix using Beef Jerky as part of a sponsored post for Collective Bias® and it's client.
This recipe combines several different snack items to create the perfect easy gift.  It has Popcorn, Beef Jerky, Peanuts, Pretzels plus more combined for the perfect mixture of spice and salt.

I alway seem to be running out to Target last minute for a couple last minute gifts for people.  And most times I pick up some sort of snack item in a festive holiday container as a gift.

Well not this year.  I plan on making another couple batches of this Spicy Popcorn Mix and using this as my gifts. I am thinking this would be a cute holiday gift to give in a mason jar or even in one of those cellophane holiday bags.

It was super simple to make (Just my kind of recipe!) and tasty.

I found this popcorn mix perfect served with Dark Chocolate Sensation Hot Chocolate. Isn't everything better with chocolate? I think so!

Just to note:  Our first batch was gone within 24 hours of my making it.   I had grand plans of showing you some cute ways to gift this popcorn recipe but we seem to be unable not to eat it all immediately.  So you will need to use your imagination.  Sorry.
Spicy Popcorn Mix using Beef Jerky
1 C Pretzel Snaps, broken slightly
1 Bag Orville Redenbacher's Movie Theater Butter Popcorn
1 C Corn Chips, broken slightly
½ C Peanuts
½ C Cheez-its
1 Tbsp Butter
2 Tbsp Hot Sauce
1 Bag (2.9oz) Beef Jerky (I used Slim Jim Dare beef jerky)
  1. Preheat the oven to 350F
  2. Pop the popcorn according to the package and place in a large bowl.
  3. In a small bowl, melt the butter and mix with the hot sauce.
  4. Pour hot sauce mixture over popcorn and stir well to evenly coat.
  5. Place on cookie sheet and back for 5 minutes.
  6. Combine popcorn, slightly broken pretzel snaps, slightly broken corn chips, peanuts, cheezits, and beef jerky broken into bite size pieces.
It makes about a one gallon zip lock bag full (plus an extra bowl full for eating immediately).

PS: If you plan on making this... head on over to as their are coupons available right now for Orville Popcorn, Slim Jim's and Swiss Miss. Score!
