Recipe - Meatballs & Tomato Sauce

I am a sucker for homemade meatballs.  The original recipe actually came from my mother-in-law.  Of course, I have made a few changes.  But it is still so good.

2 lbs lean ground beef
1 medium onion (I usually leave this out)
2 Tbsp minced garlic cloves
3 Tbsp Italian seasoning
1 egg
1/2 cup bread crumbs

2 - 15oz cans tomato sauce
1 - 8oz can of tomato paste
1 diced green pepper
1 chopped onion
3 Tbsp italian seasoning
2 Tbsp minced garlic cloves

1. Mix all the ingredients for the meatballs thoroughly.
2. Shape into meatballs. (I like my meatballs large!)
3. Mix all the ingredients for the sauce in a large saucepan.  I actually make the meatballs in the crock pot, so I use that for my mixing.
4. Mix in the meatballs.  Be careful when stirring to not break up the meatballs.  Make sure all the meatballs are under the sauce.
5. Cook on low for 4 hours either on the stove or the crock pot.  Since I start the crock pot at lunch my meatballs cook for closer to 5 hours.  Either way they are yummy.
